Sleep Apnea and Snore Guards

Sleep apnea is a condition where one pauses his breathing many times throughout the night. This gives the brain and other organs insufficient amount of oxygen which is very fatal. When the body does not get enough oxygen, serious health problems arise. Forest Heights Family Dental provides treatment for sleep apnea to aid proper breathing and reduce the risk of stroke, heart disease and cardiac arrest.

Snoring can become much more than a minor inconvenience. Severe snoring has the ability to interrupt and impair your sleep and the sleep of your entire household. Consistent loss of sleep can lead to symptoms such as daytime drowsiness, headaches, or mild cognitive impairment. When left untreated, more severe health risks may develop, such as hypertension, heart disease, or stroke.

Fortunately, a small oral appliance called the Snore Guard® can significantly reduce or even eliminate nighttime snoring. This device prevents the jaw and tongue from dropping back into the throat, keeping the air passage open and unobstructed. The Snore Guard® is safe and can effectively prevent snoring the very first night you use it, allowing you and your loved ones to immediately get the rest you need. Many of our patients find that after achieving better sleep with the Snore Guard®, their overall quality of life also improves.

TMJ Treatment

Temporomandibular joint dysfunction syndrome (TMJ) is caused by overuse or an imbalance in the musculoskeletal system resulting in a headache, pain near the ear, locking jaw, difficulty in chewing food and opening the mouth, and shoulder or back pain. TMJ can result to serious health problems when left untreated. Forest Heights Family Dental provides patients with the right solution they need.

Our trained staff can accurately diagnose and treat TMJ at its source. Utilizing the latest neuromuscular treatments and techniques, he can restore balance to your jaw and provide you with relief from your symptoms. Night guards or oral medication can also help relieve pain and discomfort caused by TMJ. After an oral examination, he will design a custom treatment plan that can best meet your unique needs.
